Sarah's Album

This is Sarah, a very sweet young lady whose family we met as volleyball photographers. Her father, Tim, coached both Sarah and her older sister Shelley and the years of photographing volleyball allowed us to get to know their family.

Having photographed Shelley's Senior portraits a couple of years prior - and knowing that Sarah's were coming up - I pitched an idea I had been mulling over for some time. I knew Sarah had a close friend, Casey, who we were also acquainted with through volleyball. I asked Sarah if she and Casey wanted to go hang out at the State Fair. What I wanted to see is if we could capture the feeling of good friends at the Fair - the golden light, the laughter, the good times. I wanted to try to capture a nostalgic feeling of friends laughing and being together.

Sarah loved the idea and asked if two other close friends could be there as well - all four of the young ladies had grown up together. The Fair portraits were a huge success and the four were a lot of fun to work with.

Shortly after, we photographed Sarah's portraits and, combining her portraits with images of the Fair, this album was the result.
